Rebuilding a payments core on a modern cloud stack
Migrated a legacy on-premise ledger to a fault-tolerant cloud architecture across three regions without a service interruption.
Illustrative case study. Written to show the page structure and the level of detail that performs well in search. Replace with a real engagement from the CMS before launch.
The challenge
The client’s ledger ran on ageing on-premise hardware in a single facility. Capacity was capped, disaster recovery was untested, and every release required an overnight maintenance window that the business could no longer absorb.
Our approach
We modelled the existing transaction flows before touching anything, then built the replacement alongside the original and ran both in parallel. Traffic moved across in graduated slices, with automated reconciliation comparing every transaction on both systems until the numbers matched exactly for thirty consecutive days.
The outcome
The cutover completed without a single service interruption. The platform now runs active-active across three regions, releases ship during business hours, and infrastructure costs fell despite a substantial capacity increase.
